Lee Buck Trevino was born on December 1st, 1939 into a Mexican-American family in Garland, Texas. His mother Juanita Trevino and his grave-digging grandfather Joe Trevino raised him. He is regarded as one of the finest players in golf history and was an American retired professional golfer.
Trevino periodically went to school and worked as a child to support the family. He began laboring in the cotton fields when he was 5 years old. Trevino began his journey in the game when his uncle gave him a couple of golf balls and an old club.
After that, he started working as a caddie at the Dallas Athletic Club, which was close to his house, while sneaking into other country clubs to practice. Soon he was working as a full-time caddy. Trevino quit school when he was 14 years old to work.

The caddies had three short holes behind their shack, so he was also allowed to practice his swing. He would whack at least 300 balls after work. Many of these practice shots were fired from very little grassy, bare ground, and frequently in extremely windy conditions.
