He also played for the Philadelphia Phillies, where he won another World Series, and for the Montreal Expos for a short time. From 1984 to 1989, he managed the Reds during and after his career.
He won three World Series, three batting crowns, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, and the Rookie of the Year Award. Rose won both of his Gold Gloves as an outfielder, in 1969 and 1970.
