Patricia Bellew, who was born Patricia Nelson on March 28, 1927, passed away in 2009. There is no information about her early years because of her intense secrecy. She becomes famous for being the wife of  Bud Grant a former head coach and player of American football and a former player in the National Basketball Association.

Career

Harry Peter “Bud” Grant Jr. was born on May 20, 1927, He was a former head coach and player of American football, Canadian football, and the National Basketball Association (NBA). For 18 seasons, Grant led the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) to four Super Bowl appearances, 11 division victories, one league championship, and three National Football Conference championships. He was the team’s second (1967-83) and fourth (1985) head coach.

He spent ten seasons as the head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League (CFL), leading them to four Grey Cup victories, before taking over as the Vikings’ head coach. With a combined 286 victories in the NFL and CFL, Grant is the most successful head coach in Vikings history and the seventh most successful professional football coach overall.

Grant was inducted into both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1983 and 1994, respectively. The only other coach, Marv Levy, was the first to lead teams to both the Grey Cup and the Super Bowl.

What causes the death of Patricia Bellew?

Patricia Bellew passed away in March 2009 at Fairview Southdale Hospital. She was 81 years old. She had Parkinson’s disease for a long period, which is what caused her death.

Patricia Bellew and Bud Grant tied the knot in 1950 in a private ceremony witnessed by their close friends and family, and they had shared six children together, two daughters and four sons named, (Kathy, Laurie, Peter, Mike, Bruce, and Danny). Their child, Bruce passed away on July 25, 2018, from brain cancer.

 Their son Mike Grant began coaching in 1979 at Minnetonka High School before taking over as the head coach at Forest Lake in 1981, 1986, and 1989–1991. Since 1992, Mike has served as Eden Prairie High School’s head football coach in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Since 1992, Mike Grant has led Eden Prairie to 11 state championships.

Ryan Grant, the grandson of Bud Grant, played linebacker for the University of Minnesota from 2008 to 2012 while also playing quarterback for Eden Prairie. Jenny, a grandchild of Bud, is married to former NFL quarterback Gibran Hamdan.

At the age of 81, Pat (Nelson) Grant passed away from Parkinson’s disease on March 4, 2009. Bud Grant continues to live alone with his kids when she dies. They have six children together during the course of their six decades of marriage. Bud also celebrated being a grandfather.
