J.D. Gibbs was born on February 21, 1969, near Los Angeles, California to his parents Joe Gibbs, and Pat Gibbs. J. D.” Gibbs passed away on January 11, 2019. He was a co-owner of Joe Gibbs Racing and a professional stock car racer from the United States. At the College of William & Mary, he also participated in collegiate football.
Early life
J.D. Gibbs was born on February 21, 1969, near Los Angeles, California. At the time, the University of Southern California’s assistant coach was his father, Joe Gibbs, and Patricia Escobar, a former Escobar, is his mother. Gibbs moved around a lot as a child before settling in Washington, D.C.
After graduating from Oakton High School in Virginia, he enrolled at the College of William & Mary. He played quarterback and defensive back for the 1987–1990 school year while his father was the Washington Redskins head coach. The team won 10 games during his senior year and made two Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoff appearances with his assistance.
