Mario Gabriele Andretti, a former American racing driver, was born on February 28, 1940. He has Italian ancestry. Only Andretti and one other driver have won races in Formula One, IndyCar, the World Sportscar Championship, and the NASCAR Cup Series.
He is among the most accomplished racecar drivers ever. He has also won sprint and midget car competitions.
Mario Gabriele Andretti won the IROC VI in 1978 in addition to four IndyCar championships (three under USAC sanctioning and one under CART).
