George Foreman was born on January 10, 1949, in Marshall, Texas. He grew up in the Fifth Ward community of Houston, Texas, alongside his six siblings. George was raised by J. D. Foreman, whom his mother had married when George was a young child, although Leroy Moorehead was his biological father. George was a difficult young man, as he acknowledged in his memoirs. At age 15, he stopped attending school and worked as a mugger.

George Edward Foreman is an American former professional boxer, businessman, minister, and author. He competed in boxing from 1967 to 1997. He has won an Olympic gold medal and two heavyweight world championships. The George Foreman Grill has made him a well-known businessman.

After growing up in a challenging environment, Foreman chose to take up amateur boxing, winning the heavyweight gold medal in the 1968 Summer Olympics. He won the heavyweight title by defeating Joe Frazier in the second round.
