According to a report from TMZ.com, Larry Bird’s son Conner Bird was detained on Sunday for reportedly attempting to attack his girlfriend with a car.
”The alleged victim told campus police that Bird threw a cell phone at her girlfriend during an argument at Bird’s apartment, striking her in the wrist.
The woman claims that later that evening, as she was getting into Bird’s car to drive to the stadium, they got into another argument, and she was forced to exit the vehicle and walk home. Even so, the woman claimed that Bird started pursuing her through the parking lot in his car, attempting to run her over.”
Connor Bird was taken into custody on the campus of Indiana University. According to the report, Bird was also detained for “intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, battery resulting in injuries, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.” According to a TMZ article, Bird had a previous run-in with the law, being detained for “underage drinking and disorderly conduct” in 2011.
According to John Tompkins, his attorney, this is a “private matter we are seeking to address as fast as possible,” and “we are happy no one was gravely wounded,” according to ABC Station 6 in Indianapolis.
