He was a power forward who was once an All-Star and once an All-NBA selection. The Washington Bullets selected him with the fifth overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft, which launched his NBA career. He was a standout All-American for the Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball team before being drafted. He was a member of the Fab Five recruiting class of 1991 at Michigan, which advanced to the NCAA tournament finals in 1992 and 1993.
Howard was an All-American center and an honors student at Chicago Vocational Career Academy. He became the first NBA player to sign a $100 million contract after spending his first season as an All-Rookie performance and his second as an All-Star and All-NBA performer. He joined the Miami Heat in 2010 and eventually made his first NBA Finals appearance.
He stayed with the Heat for the following year, and in the 2012 NBA Finals, he captured his first NBA title.
