Rheagen played 314 minutes in 17 games as a rookie, all as a substitute. He had eight shots, three of which were on target, and one goal during his rookie season. In the Aggies’ 2-2 draw with Oklahoma State, she had a season-high 33 minutes of playing time. On the day of her birthday, she also scored her first goal of the year in the Aggies’ triumph over Florida in the SEC Tournament quarterfinal.

Rheagen Smith played in 20 games, starting four of them; she had 18 shots overall, six of which were on goal. She scored her team’s first goal of the season against Hawaii, she added an assist against BYU and scored against Colorado College, and she scored the Aggies’ 3-0 victory over LSU. Smith elected to forego his senior year of eligibility to play professionally after being voted a unanimous All-American in 1989.

During his long professional career, he carried for 18,355 yards, beating Walter Payton’s previous record. He also holds the career rushing touchdown record with 164. Smith is the only running back in history to win a Super Bowl championship, the NFL MVP award, the NFL rushing title, and the Super Bowl MVP award all in the same season (1993).
