DeAndre Hopkins was born on June 6, 1992, in Clemson, South Carolina, U.S. DeAndre is 31 years old as of 2023. He had a difficult childhood, growing up in turbulent times. Hopkins is close to Sabrina Greenlee, the single mother who raised him. He credits her with his success.

He is a wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He attended Clemson University and was selected by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Hopkins has appeared in five Pro Bowls and been named to five All-Pro teams. He was also a member of the Arizona Cardinals.

Hopkins attended D. W. Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina, where he was a member of the Lions’ football, basketball, and track & field teams. Hopkins had 57 receptions for 1,266 yards and 18 touchdowns on offense, 28 interceptions, and five touchdowns on defense during his high school football career.

The Houston Texans selected Hopkins with the 27th overall pick in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was the second wide receiver taken, immediately after Tavon Austin (St. Louis Rams, tenth overall).

Hopkins was the team’s second first-round pick in wide receiver history, following Andre Johnson, who was selected third overall in 2003.

Hopkins made his NFL debut in the Texans’ season-opening 31-28 victory over the San Diego Chargers. The Texans were behind 28-7 at one point in the game. Hopkins had five receptions for 55 yards.

Hopkins came back as a starting wide receiver opposite Andre Johnson to begin the 2014 season under new head coach Bill O’Brien. Hopkins was firmly entrenched as the team’s top receiver to begin the 2015 season after veteran Andre Johnson left the Texans in free agency to join the Indianapolis Colts.

Hopkins announced on July 30, 2016, that he was holding out for a new contract, but he did not report to training camp. Hopkins was fined $6,076 on September 15, 2016, for wearing inappropriate cleats with his shoes, which were identified as Kanye West’s Yeezy 350 Boosts,  according to Wikipedia

On August 31, 2017, Hopkins and the Houston Texans agreed to a five-year, $81 million contract, including $49 million in guaranteed compensation and a $7.5 million signing bonus.

At the end of the 2019 season, Hopkins had 104 receptions for 1,165 yards and seven receiving touchdowns. His teammates ranked him eighth on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2020 list.

What happened to DeAndre Hopkins’s mother?

Sabrina Greenlee was born on April 1, 1970, in South Carolina. She was born and raised in South Carolina. She has been a victim of abusive relationships since she was 14 years old.

Sabrina Greenlee had a boiling concoction thrown on her face by the woman she caught with her boyfriend, who was cheating on her in July 2002. The attack resulted in the skin rapidly peeling off her neck, face, and back and left her blind. Her partner picked her up, put her in his car, and drove her to a local petrol station.

Sabrina Greenlee was transported by ambulance service to the hospital and then evacuated to Augusta, Georgia, where she underwent skin graft surgery on her face and was placed in a medically induced coma for three weeks. Greenlee’s torso was damaged by fire, and her face was skin-grafted, leaving her completely blind.

After suffering injuries, she had completely lost track of her life and wanted to end it all, but she pushed herself up, realizing that her child’s life had yet to begin. Because she was unable to give the life she desired for her children as a result of this tragedy, Hopkins’ uncle took responsibility and assisted them throughout.

What happened to DeAndre Hopkins’s father, Harris?

Harris Steve Hopkins died in a car accident at the age of 25. The vehicle accident took place in November 1992 as DeAndre’s parents were driving back to their home in Georgia after spending time in Atlanta with other family members.

Fortunately, Sabrina did not sustain any serious injuries, but Steve Hopkins died eight days later after the accident.
