Dorsett, a native of Western Pennsylvania, attended the close-by University of Pittsburgh, where as a senior in 1976, he guided the Panthers to the national championship and took home the Heisman Trophy.
He was selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 1977 draft, coming out of Seattle. Through 1987, Dorsett played for the team for 11 seasons during which time he was named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year. The next year, he played for Denver before quitting due to injuries.
